Well… Ashlyn and Brett were very, very sick on Thanksgiving…. and they are actually still sick… poor things! So it was an odd Thanksgiving for the Williams family… pajamas and lots of meds! We were going to go to the Macy’s Day Parade with a family in the church, and then we were going to go to the house of another family in the church and have Thanksgiving Dinner… but with all the illness we had to cancel unfortunately. The family we were going to eat with actually brought us Thanksgiving Dinner!!! We feel so incredibly blessed by the loving church family we are a part of! Not only did we get invited over to share Thanksgiving with another family… but they took the time to bring us dinner when we could not come! I was so blessed…. to have a family be so thoughtful was very touching. God is so good!
Ashlyn’s First Show! December 1, 2008
We took Ashlyn to her first show in The City! We got to go see Cirque Du Soleil’s Wintuk with the seniors of the church, and she LOVED it! It is about a little boy’s search for snow… and people did stunts on skates, bikes, tight ropes, sleds, trapolines, etc. Of course there was tons of acting, signing, and dancing too. She was in awe the whole time… and at the end it was all topped off by tons of snow falling from the ceiling. She thought it was the best thing ever! We can’t wait to take her to another show… I can’t believe we are in New York! Now we just have to choose which show…
Trick or Treat 2008 December 1, 2008
Ashlyn enjoyed Trick or Treating for the first time this year on Halloween! She had so much fun… it was adorable! She was a butterfly and I actually scored her costume the week of at Old Navy for $5!!! Who can beat a deal like that?
The week before Halloween was so busy. We carved a pumpkin… Ashlyn chose the “Surprised face” for daddy to carve. We also made Halloween cookies for some friends and neighbors.. and Ashlyn got a huge kick out of that. She loves to cook and bake and when we are not doing it together in the real kitchen… she is pretending to cook at her play kitchen.
Well… another Halloween has passed… time is flying by!
Pumpkin Patch Out on the Island December 1, 2008
On Long Island there are TONS of pumpkin patches. We drove way out on the Island and found the perfect pumpkin patch to take Ashlyn to. She ran around looking at all the Pumpkins and chose her favorite. It was a fun family outing and soon we want to go pick apples at an apple orchard. Good times!
The City with Papa and G.G. December 1, 2008
Bill and Margaret got to come and visit a little over a month ago… I am so behind on my blogging! We loved having them here to visit and we had sucha great time! We miss them so much and cherished the time we had to hang out with them.
We went everywhere while they were here! We visited the city and took a double decker bus tour to see the whole thing! We saw the Statue of Liberty from the Satten Island Ferry, saw the skaters at Rockefeller Center, and we basically had a blast! We also went to the beach a couple of times and drove out on the island to see some of the cookl villages and huge houses out there. We even visited Fire Island.
So, needless to say, it was a busy week when they were here… especially since we had Ashlyn’s 2nd birthday party too! We had a blast! Come back soon GG and Papa!!!
